What We Need To Know?

  • The undergraduate educational program includes, as a rule, the main specialty (at least 180 credits), an additional specialty (at least 60 credits) and a free component;
  • The student chooses the main specialty at the time of enrollment in the university, and the additional program and free component are chosen during the study course in the semester determined by the educational program. The choice is free and is carried out according to the student's wishes;
  • At least 75% of the regulated educational program (Law, Bachelor-Master integrated educational program of teacher-training, Medical doctor/dentist) is devoted to the development of components necessary for the regulated profession.

  • A credit is a unit that expresses the amount of study load required for a student and that can be obtained after achieving the learning outcomes.
  • The academic year consists of autumn and spring semesters.
  • At the undergraduate level, the student's workload during 8 semesters is at least 240 credits.
  • On the Bachelor-Master integrated educational program of teacher training – Primary education - the student's workload for 10 semesters is at least 300 credits.
  • The student's workload for the Medical Doctor /Dentist educational program during the 12/10 semester is at least 360/300 credits.
  • The student's workload during one academic year includes an average of 60 credits (30 credits per semester)
  • • In order to fulfill the corresponding number of credits, the student of the graduating semester is allowed to choose study courses of no more than 40 credits.

  • The form of conducting the final and relevant additional examination is a written examination. Taking into account the specifics of the study course, it may additionally include an oral exam component. In such a case, the exam will be considered passed if in each component the student receives at least 51% of the points set for this component (written/oral).
  • A system for assessing student achievements
  • (A) Excellent –91% of the maximum rating and above
  • (B) Very good – 81-90% of maximum grade
  • (C) Good – 71 -80 % of the maximum grade
  • (D) Satisfactory– 61-70 % of the maximum grade
  • (E) Sufficient– 51-60 % of the maximum grade
  • (FX) Did not pass - 41-50% of the maximum grade, which means that the student has the right to take the additional exam once.
  • (F) Failed – 40 points out of the maximum grade or lower, meaning that considerable further work is required and the student has to retake the module.

If the study course is evaluated by several examiners, the final grade is calculated by the arithmetic average of the obtained points. The right to pass the final exam is granted to a student whose minimum competence level in the components of the midterm evaluations is at least 18 points in total.

  • To use the university's material-technical, library, informational and other facilities under equal conditions, according to the rules established by the internal regulations of the university and the regulations of structural units.
  • To freely express one's opinion and reasonably refuse to share the ideas that are offered during the learning process.
  • To transfer from the second year of study to another higher educational institution and to transfer the allocated state funding to this institution in accordance with the procedure specified by the legislation of Georgia and the charter of the receiving higher educational institution
  • • To receive a scholarship, financial or material support, and other benefits from the state, university or other sources in accordance with the legislation of Georgia and the rules established by the university.

  • To study all the courses that s/he has chosen of his/her own free will and the teaching of which is mandatory according to the program established by the university.
  • To follow the requirements defined by the regulations of the relevant faculty
  • Take care of the university property.
  • • To comply with the requirements defined by the legislation, university charter, internal regulations, code of ethics and the agreement signed with it.

  • An ATSU student is entitled to change the educational program through internal mobility.
  • The student has the right to participate in internal mobility even if he/she has an active or suspended student status at the time of the announcement of internal mobility.
  • Internal mobility can be carried out within one level of higher education. The student has the right to participate in internal mobility after one semester of teaching at the corresponding level of higher education. The period of study does not include the time during which the student's status was suspended.
  • The right to change the educational program will be obtained by students with the corresponding number of vacant places, whose results of the unified national exams are higher than the corresponding results of other mobility applicants.

  • A student who has not obtained the relevant academic degree within the time limit determined by the educational program, has the right to complete the educational program during the following semesters through self-financing.
  • • In an additional semester, the student pays the tuition fee, which is calculated in proportion to the number of credits to be obtained.

  • Personal statement (without specifying the reason)
  • Illness, if the impossibility of involving the student in the educational process is documented.
  • Studying in a higher educational institution in a foreign country
  • Conscription for compulsory military service
  • Financial debt or other circumstances stipulated by the statute of the institution.
  • The maximum period of suspension of student status is 5 years

  • Completion of the educational program by the student at the appropriate educational level
  • Personal Statement
  • Suspension of status for more than 5 years while studying at the university
  • Failing to obtain credit three times in one of the mandatory courses provided by the educational program
  • Failing to pass the complex qualification exam for one-stage medical educational programs three times
  • The normative term of education intended for the completion of the educational program (Bachelor's degree 8 semesters, one-stage program "Medical Case" - 12 semesters, one -stage program "Dentistry" - 10 semesters, master's degree 4 semesters, doctoral degree- 6 semesters, Teacher training educational program 2 semesters, Georgian language training program 2 semesters) after the end of the 2 additional semesters, in case of not completing the relevant level of education, the student not showing his/her desire to continue studies and not signing a new contract.

  • After completing the educational programs of the university bachelor's level, the graduate is awarded the corresponding academic degree/qualification. The academic degree/qualification is awarded by the respective faculty in accordance with the prescribed rules

  • Academic degree/qualification is confirmed by a diploma signed by the Rector of the university and the dean of the faculty and certified by the seal of the university, with a standard attachment.
  • A person who has not completed or failed to complete the relevant educational level is given an appropriate certificate.
